Week 6 students went to Woodman Point for a 3-day camp and took part in a range of exciting activities designed to develop teamwork, communication, confidence, leadership and resilience.
We started camp with team building & icebreaker games – several fun activities to help students get to know one another, build trust and work as a team. We even had friendly competitive challenges of staff vs students, showing our school spirit and having plenty of laughs alongside some history of Woodman Point and its purpose with a tour of the Quarantine Station.
Some of a camp activities included creating and decorating individual kites before putting their designs to the test, with success of all kites flying. Rock climbing and vertical challenges that encouraged students to step outside their comfort zones tackling high adventure challenges to build confidence, while developing courage, trust and perseverance. We also had a lot of fun having a go at archery and building catapults.
Overall, the camp provided students with a balance of adventure, competition, creativity and teamwork, while creating opportunities to build friendships and lasting memories. The staff and students all enjoyed a well-earned rest over the weekend.
